Job description
Overview

US Tax Advisor - Single Family Office
Location: London (with flexibility)

Level: Experienced Manager to Senior Manager (or equivalent)

Specialism: US Corporate & Private Client Tax - Mid-Market Focus

We are partnering with a substantial single-family office representing a family with significant global investments, including a major stake in a hedge fund alongside private structures, SPVs, and diverse asset holdings. With a growing number of family members preparing to relocate to the US & vice versa, this is a unique opportunity to be the in-house eyes and ears on all things US tax.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced US Tax Advisor with a career dedicated to US tax - so no UK tax work involved. You will advise on a wide range of matters for both individuals and corporates, including:

  • Corporate, personal, and partnership tax
  • Planning for family members moving to the US
  • Structuring and advisory work across SPVs and private investments
  • Liaising with external advisors to ensure efficient tax outcomes
  • Reviewing K-1s, identifying relevant matters for escalation, and ensuring smooth tax compliance processes
  • Modelling transactions, preparing analysis in spreadsheets, and delivering recommendations in clear, concise presentations

This role offers exposure to a breadth of work in a fast-paced, high-value environment, with significant autonomy and the opportunity to contribute to strategic decision-making.

What We're Looking For
  • US-trained tax professional preferred, although we will consider UK-trained candidates who have moved into a US tax role
  • 4-8 years post-qualification experience (Experienced Manager to Senior Manager level) - NB as with most family office roles / firm they offer a flat structure
  • A mixed US tax background (corporate + private client) ideal; if specialism is required, preference is for private client with partnership expertise
  • Proven ability to work self-sufficiently in an in-house environment- this is not a siloed advisory role; you'll be hands-on with the detail and the ability to work cross-functionally and globally
  • Strong track record in advisory work rather than purely process-driven compliance
  • CPA (or US equivalent) preferred; enrolled agents with relevant depth of experience also considered
  • Hedge fund, asset management, real estate, or crypto exposure would be a bonus, but is not required
Why Join?
  • Be part of a sizable, collaborative tax team within a prestigious single-family office
  • Work on varied, complex, and high-value matters spanning corporate and personal US tax
  • Operate at the intersection of technical tax and strategic business planning
  • Enjoy a flat, non-hierarchical culture with direct engagement at senior levels
  • Play a key role in an environment where your advice has immediate, tangible impact

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned US tax professional seeking variety, autonomy, and the chance to work closely with ultra-high-net-worth clients and their businesses in a genuinely collaborative setting.
