Overview

Unit Nurse Manager - Nights to join a dementia specialised nursing home. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a passion for providing exceptional care and ensuring efficient unit operations. The role demands strong leadership, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to fostering a supportive environment for both residents and staff. Hold a valid NMC PIN as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).

Responsibilities
  • Providing professional, person-centred care in accordance with residents\' care plans.
  • Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, medication protocols, and industry standards.
  • Overseeing and managing unit care plans to maintain best practices and individual needs.
  • Responding promptly to emergencies and escalating concerns to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Accurately maintaining care records, incident reports, and end-of-shift handovers.
  • Coordinating and resolving staff rota issues, arranging agency bookings when required.
  • Supporting and mentoring staff to create a positive and collaborative working environment.
  • Actively participating in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualified Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current NMC pin.
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a nursing home setting.
  • Excellent clinical skills and a thorough understanding of safeguarding policies and care standards.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage staff rotas and day-to-day unit operations.
