The Impact You Will Have

As a Business Analyst Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of our regional Underwriting portfolio. Your analytical expertise will ensure precise KPI reporting, effective steering, diligent monitoring, and comprehensive natural catastrophe controlling where applicable. This role is central to driving informed decision-making and optimizing performance across our global operations.

You will collaborate directly with the Director UK and Practice Leaders, providing crucial support in identifying growth opportunities and enhancing our planning and budgeting processes. Your insights and recommendations will contribute significantly to our ability to innovate and expand, positioning us as leaders in the industry.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze the regional portfolio to support strategic underwriting decisions of the regional LoB Heads.
  • Analyze the regional portfolio and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support claims analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate and maintain regional LoB reporting framework, including regular KPI reporting as well as overall maintenance of regional data quality and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Global Performance Steering (GPS) to review LoB's P&L and challenge assumptions when necessary.
  • Support the Director UK and practice group leaders in the identification of growth opportunities and development of targeting strategies.
  • Analyze cost reports and contribute to expense management.
  • Support Allianz steering Cycle (e.g. planning and portfolio reviews).
  • Support governance topics such as business reviews.
  • Support capacity and capital steering processes, including CAT modelling and monitoring.
  • Participate in strategic regional/global LoB projects and initiatives by providing support and coordinating activities.
What You'll Bring to the Role
  • Degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Actuarial background or any other relevant discipline.
  • Experience in International Underwriting P&C Business, Finance, Actuarial, or Reinsurance.
  • Experience with relevant technical and financial analysis of industrial underwriting cases.
  • Ability to manage the underwriting books, monitor appropriate investments and allocate funds; accordingly, analyze trends and scenario plans.
  • Ability to assess risk inherent exposures and (natural) hazards relevant to LoB.
  • Successful track of working in complex matrix and international environments.
  • Agile mindset with a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and intercultural skills.
  • A willingness to learn and explore how AI can enhance your role and the broader organization.
  • Fluent English skills.
