At Brit, we believe that the uncertainty of the future should never stand in the way of progress. We exist to help people and businesses face the future and thrive. We are change-makers enabled by a global workforce who collaborate to deliver a risk service. A team empowered to help our customers not only to survive the risks they face, but to stay on the front foot and keep moving forward. We believe the uncertainty of tomorrow isn't something to fear but to seize; that it's full of potential. Not only for our customers but our employees too.
As our Underwriting Accountant, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering accurate and timely financial data across our group and entities. You'll be responsible for producing and analysing underwriting information under GAAP and Solvency II using our Annual Accounting Model, supporting both actuals and forecasts. Your insights will help shape the strategic direction of the business, working closely with our Business Partnering, Brit Re Finance and FP&A teams.
You'll take ownership of underwriting values at the Syndicate and Bermudan reinsurer level, providing monthly commentary and ensuring results are reflected in regulatory returns and rating agency submissions. Collaboration will be key, as you'll liaise with departments across the business to reconcile inputs and enhance the efficiency of our accounting processes.
In addition to your core responsibilities, you'll contribute to the development and maintenance of our financial controls framework, ensuring reconciliations are completed and exceptions addressed. You'll also support the evolution of our accounting model and reporting tools, identifying opportunities to improve how we present management information.
This is a role for someone who thrives on detail, enjoys working across teams, and is motivated by the opportunity to make meaningful improvements to how we operate.
