Job description

The Property Treaty reinsurance underwriting team is based in London and generates close to $250m of income from US and International clients. These two underwriting roles involve developing and renewing both the US and International Property Treaty portfolios and supporting the wider team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Property Treaty product line.
• Negotiate, assess, and underwrite renewal and new business efficiently, in line with business plans and personal authority limits.
• Support broker interactions, modelling, strategic thinking, emerging risk analysis, and business planning.
• Build and maintain relationships with brokers and clients to generate new business.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal procedures, including aggregate management for peak risks.
• Prepare underwriting reports and presentations as needed.
• Maintain good relationships with external and internal parties.
• Compile statistics and monitor the performance of risks and accounts.
• Review and finalize contract wordings.

Skills & Experience

• Lloyd’s or company market experience in a client/broker-facing role (broking or underwriting).
• Technical knowledge of Property Treaty classes, with a preference for international market experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Working knowledge of catastrophe modelling tools such as RMS.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
