About The Role

We’re looking for a proactive and detail‑focused Underwriter to join our Liability team in Witham. You’ll be responsible for underwriting new business, renewals, and mid‑term adjustments (MTAs), ensuring brokers receive a consistent, high‑quality service. This is a great opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the growth of our SME Liability portfolio.

What you will be doing

• Underwriting Employers, Public and Products Liability risks for SME clients.
• Quoting and managing new business, renewals, and MTAs.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers.
• Negotiating pricing and terms within your underwriting authority.
• Supporting cross‑selling initiatives and promoting SRG’s wider product offering.
• Collaborating with the IT team to enhance systems and test new products.

Who we are looking for

We’re looking for someone with solid underwriting experience and a collaborative mindset. You’ll be confident working independently and enjoy building broker relationships.

You’ll Need

• Strong experience in commercial/SME insurance underwriting.
• Experience underwriting Employers, Public and Products Liability risks up to £10m.
• Familiarity with premium ranges up to £25,000.
• Understanding of industry regulations and compliance.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
