Our client TreadReader, part of Car-O-Liner UK and Snap-on Equipment, is seeking a technical, self-driven individual with ambitions to grow sales and business. The role is for a Sales Manager for the TreadReader brand in the UK and Ireland. TreadReader’s patented technology enables industry personnel to produce unique 3D tread depth tire scans. This specialist role within a technical portfolio involves business development and requires managing the process end-to-end in collaboration with internal support, manufacturing, and marketing teams. The role involves extensive travel across the UK.
The key responsibilities of a UK Sales Manager:
- Grow sales according to targets and business plans through direct and distributor channels, managing relationships with strategic distribution partners, ensuring customer satisfaction, and securing premium product representation. Interact with prospects and customers to drive satisfaction, sales volume, and installations.
- Engage directly with Key Accounts, including automotive OEMs, tire companies, and large automotive groups.
- Conduct product demonstrations, ROI calculations, installations, start-up training, and regular visits to maintain relationships and foster long-term partnerships.
- Collaborate with internal sales and support teams to ensure a premium customer experience and complete all necessary documentation and communication.
- Administer sales activities such as invoicing and CRM management.
- Plan, coordinate, and evaluate sales activities and promotional campaigns with distribution partners, continuously challenging the go-to-market strategy.
- Perform forecasting and planning to ensure accurate reporting.
- Monitor markets to anticipate business impacts.
The necessary experience and qualities:
- Background in a technical market, ideally automotive, parts, or tires, with hands-on automotive experience preferred.
- Experience in technical sales, capital equipment sales, and customer engagement.
- Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written, capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong demonstration, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage processes, diaries, and logistical challenges.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Valid driving license (B).
- Self-driven, proactive, and problem-solving attitude.
- Ability to travel extensively within the UK and Ireland, including overnight stays.
- Ideally located within driving distance of Rugby, Warwickshire.
- Commercial acumen is a plus.
