Overview

UK & Ireland Technical Sales Manager – Treadreader (Snap-On Equipment). UK based – extensive daily travel required. Permanent. Basic salary + commission. Our client TreadReader, part of Car-O-Liner UK and Snap-on Equipment, is looking for a self-driven individual, experienced in technical, solution-based selling and with the ambition to grow sales and business to join their team as a Sales Manager for the TreadReader brand in UK and Ireland. TreadReader’s leading & patented technology provides industry personnel with the ability to produce unique 3D tread depth tire scans. This is a specialist role within a technical portfolio and a versatile business development assignment requiring hands-on technical expertise and experience in direct customer communication surrounding niche products. It is an individual role in which the successful candidate will manage their own process end-to-end in cooperation with the internal support organisation, manufacturing and the central marketing team. They will also be comfortable with extensive travel across the whole of the UK & Ireland.

The key responsibilities of a UK&I Technical Sales Manager:

  • Grow sales according to specified Sales Targets and Business Plan through both the direct and distributor sales channel. This includes establishing relationships with strategic distribution partners, overseeing the relationship to grow sales, achieve high customer satisfaction, and secure premium representation of the product. In direct sales, you will interact with prospects and customers, driving customer satisfaction, sales volumes and installations.
  • Interact directly with Key Accounts (both automotive OEMs and Tire) and large automotive groups.
  • Execute work tasks such as product demonstrations, ROI calculations, installations, start-up trainings and regular visits within the assigned customer and prospect portfolio to maintain close relations and long-term partnerships.
  • Work closely with internal sales and support organisations (local and international) to ensure a premium customer experience and ensure all necessary paperwork and communications are completed.
  • Administration of sales activities – invoicing, CRM management etc.
  • Plan, coordinate and evaluate sales activities and promotional campaigns in cooperation with distribution partners and continuously challenge the go-to-market strategy.
  • Perform regular forecasting and planning activities to achieve accurate reporting.
  • Monitor assigned markets to anticipate impact on the business.

The necessary experience and qualities of a UK&I Technical Sales Manager:

  • Background in and knowledge of a technical market – ideally automotive equipment / tyres.
  • Experience with direct customer contact in technical sales situations (regarding the functions of the product line and business cases surrounding it) and niche product within sales of capital equipment - essential.
  • Experience with hands-on, technical work (installations/ demonstrations/ technical training).
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Ability to organise and control a process is essential – you will be able to manage your own process, diary and overcome logistical challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills – both spoken and written, with the ability to communicate with stakeholders of all levels (blue-collar and white-collar).
  • Strong demonstration, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable with computer systems – Microsoft Office & CRM.
  • Driving licence B.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and a problem solver.
  • Personal situation allows extensive travel within the UK & Ireland with some overnight stays.
  • You will ideally be within driving distance of Rugby, Warwickshire.
