A leading educational services provider in the UK is seeking experienced tutors to provide bespoke one-to-one tuition for young people with special educational needs (SEN). As a tutor, you'll work flexibly to help students regain confidence in their learning. Responsibilities include reengaging students, completing assessments, and lesson planning. Requirements include prior experience in an educational setting and an enhanced DBS certificate. Pay ranges from £20 to £30 per hour, with flexible hours available.
Who are Prospero Teaching and what do we stand for? Prospero Teaching is seeking experienced tutors to work with pupils accessing alternative provision in Portsmouth and surrounding areas. Our Children's Education Services Team at Prospero Teaching delivers individual specialist education programmes of support. We work nationally with young people who are facing difficulty in accessing education.
Most of these pupils will have been out of education for some time, so the confidence levels may be very low. It is your responsibility to reengage them in their learning and offer structure back into their daily routine. Prospero Teaching will work with you closely to monitor the progression with each pupil and support effective learning.
Tutoring: Providing bespoke 1:1 tuition in the family home and/or community to young people with SEN, complex health and behavioural needs. As a tutor with Prospero Teaching, you will have the opportunity to work flexibly; you can build a rota that suits you, whilst also having the amazing opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of the children and young people. Tutoring is flexible, you can commit to as much or as little tuition work as you wish. Tutoring will usually be for core subjects (English and Maths) but can sometimes include other subjects as the student requires. You will need to be able to complete a baseline assessment, and lesson plan independently.
Pay: £20 to £30 per hour.
Work Location: Within the community, pupils’ home or school.
Hours: Flexible, part time, term time only (Work with more than one young person to build up your hours!).
Contract type: Temporary (long term).
