Overview

Are you patient, positive, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated Alternative Provision Tutors to support students who face barriers to mainstream education.

About the Role

You will work 1:1 or in small groups with students who may be:

  • At risk of permanent exclusion
  • Experiencing Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA)
  • Living with complex SEN needs
  • Recovering from medical issues
  • Or facing other challenges that prevent them from thriving in traditional settings
About you

We welcome applications from individuals with at least 1 year of experience in UK schools in roles such as:

  • Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
  • Teacher
  • Cover Supervisor
  • 1:1 Tutor
  • Or similar education-based role
As a Tutor

You will:

  • Deliver tailored educational support in line with EHCPs or individual learning plans
  • Build trusting relationships with students and families
  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback
  • Work collaboratively with schools, local authorities, and other professionals

Essential & Desirable Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of UK school experience
  • Strong understanding of SEN, safeguarding, and behaviour management
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Flexibility to travel within Whiteley and surrounding areas
Eligibility
  • Hold right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references upon request
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
