Position: Tutor (Full-time)
School is a specialist SEMH provision supporting children and young people who have faced challenges in mainstream education. We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Tutor to deliver high-quality, personalised learning to small groups and individuals.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver tailored lessons across a range of subjects, adapting teaching styles to meet individual learning needs
- Support students to develop academic, social, and emotional skills
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to staff and parents
- Implement behaviour support strategies to maintain a calm, safe, and engaging learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and support teams to develop individual learning plans
- Promote resilience, confidence, and a positive attitude towards learning
Must-Have Skills
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach core subjects (English/Maths/Science)
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally those with SEMH or SEND needs
- Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
- Flexibility, patience, and a passion for helping students succeed
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
Good-to-Have Skills
- Relevant teaching or tutoring qualification (QTLS, PGCE, Level 5/6 Education and Training)
- Experience planning and delivering functional skills or vocational subjects
- Familiarity with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans)
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practice or nurture-based approaches
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Additional qualifications in SEND, SEMH, or behaviour management (e.g. Team Teach)
- Experience in outdoor learning, forest school, or experiential learning activities
- Knowledge of therapeutic interventions or mentoring approaches
- Ability to deliver creative, project-based or hands-on learning opportunities
- Skills in arts, music, sports, or life skills that can engage and inspire students
