Job summary

A support organization for women in Nottingham seeks a Support Worker to provide practical and emotional support in a safe living environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in social care, good communication skills, and the ability to manage a caseload. This role offers opportunities for training and progression as well as optional additional hours. Participation in a 24-hour on-call rota is required.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience of supporting women and/or children or experience in a housing, social care or welfare type role.
• Ability to build positive relationships with people from various backgrounds.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of safeguarding issues and able to stay calm in challenging situations.
• Commitment to achieving positive outcomes for women, young people and children.
• Comfortable with both lone working and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical and emotional support in safe accommodation.
• Manage housing issues such as health & safety checks and housekeeping.
• Hold a small caseload and ensure support plans are followed.
• Attend professional meetings regarding beneficiary support.
