Job description

GXO is currently seeking a talented and driven individual for the role of Transport Team Leader, to work at our busy B&Q site in Swindon. You will play a key role in ensuring the efficient planning and running of the transport operation.

Responsibilities:
  1. Leading and working as a team to be responsible for delivering operational performance and maintaining site systems and operational processes.
  2. Ensuring the efficient planning and running of the operation, including supporting people management processes and managing a team of core drivers, agency, and support staff.
  3. Supporting the Transport Shift Manager to ensure KPIs are met in line with targets.
  4. Working collaboratively with the management team to ensure optimum performance and efficiency, while building positive relationships with direct reports, peers, and 3PLs.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience of working within a complex transport environment.
  • Experience of managing conflicting priorities in a fast-moving environment and planning and organizing skills within a transport operation.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude.
  • Comfortable taking responsibility, demonstrating commitment, and leading by example.

Position Details:

This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday, 14:00 - 22:00. Salary is up to £30,000 per annum. Benefits include 25 days of annual leave (plus bank holidays), options to buy additional days, high street discounts, a cycle-to-work scheme, a workplace pension, and other perks including GXO University for skills development.
