Transport Planner (Entry-Level)

Location: Wombourne

Salary: £21,000 – £25,000 (depending on age and experience)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We are recruiting for a growing business in Wombourne looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Transport Planner to join their team. This is an entry-level role with genuine opportunities for progression based on performance and the ability to grow with an expanding fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Booking site deliveries and collections with major suppliers and recyclers
  • Communicating with hauliers, sending confirmations and updates
  • Inputting and managing data on systems such as TOMS, CHAS, and MOPS
  • Allocating haulier work efficiently and supporting day-to-day transport operations
  • Prospecting and onboarding new hauliers
  • Checking delivery and collection times, following up on delays or issues
  • Calculating haulage rates accurately
  • Updating driver schedules, earnings, and daily work spreadsheets
  • Using internal databases and portals to maximise efficiency and profitability
Requirements
  • Proactive, organised, and detail-oriented
  • Strong communication skills
  • Comfortable using spreadsheets and databases (training provided)
  • Able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks under pressure
  • Interest in transport, logistics, or supply chain operations
  • Experience in a logistics or office-based environment is an advantage but not essential
