Job description

Proactive Personnel are currently recruiting for a Transport Planner on behalf of a successful transport and logistics company based in Trafford Park. This is a permanent position working on days with some early and later shifts to cover holidays.

The Transport Planner position is based in their Trafford Park site and a great opportunity for a high performing, motivated, hands‑on person to join the existing team.

You will be responsible and accountable for:
  • Planning Irish Export Trailers (Dublin & Belfast)
  • Planning our multi drop C&D vehicles effectively to achieve on time deliveries (Holiday cover)
  • Ensure all customer collections are achieved.
  • Changing schedules to meet customer/network demands.
  • Liaising with drivers and colleagues to ensure all day‑to‑day activities are met to the highest possible standards.
  • Ensuring our drivers are delivering effectively and reporting delays effectively.
  • Trouble shooting critical transport related issues as they arise in a live environment.
Skills & Attributes:
  • The ability to utilise and manage people effectively.
  • Full training for the in‑house systems will be provided, however a good knowledge of computer skills will be required.
  • Flexible approach with regards to working hours
  • Able to work under pressure in a time‑critical environment.
  • Well organised with an acute attention to detail with excellent problem‑solving skills.
Benefits:
  • Up to £34,000pa
  • Monday – Friday 9-5.30pm with AM/PM Shift Holiday Covering Role
  • 9 weeks throughout the year (5.30am-2pm & 12.00-8.30pm)
  • Saturday mornings occasionally, paid as overtime additionally to salary
  • 30 days annual leave (including bank holidays) – up to max 35 days with service.
