We are currently looking for a Transport Planner to join our team at Tarmac Birtley in Birtley, Chester-le-Street, Co Durham.

This role is also accessible from Gateshead, Newcastle upon Tyne, Consett, Durham, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool, Darlington, South Shields, Wallsend, Longbenton, and surrounding areas. Role Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Distribution Supervisor, the Transport Planner will work with multidisciplinary teams, including internal and external stakeholders such as customers, customer service, planning, and haulage drivers.
  • Handling inbound and outbound calls
  • Processing customer orders
  • Raising safety concerns immediately
  • Proactively chasing and informing of changes
  • Handling complaints effectively
  • Maintaining effective communication with stakeholders
  • Accurate data recording
  • Upholding company values
  • Managing assets and materials effectively
  • Sourcing and managing external assets
  • Managing costs efficiently
The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have proven experience in a busy planning role, with a preference for those who thrive in a customer-focused, challenging environment involving multiple stakeholders. Essential skills include:
