A prominent sports governing body in London is seeking a Transformational Programme Lead to lead the delivery of participation programmes in rowing. This role involves managing resources, overseeing a team, and building relationships with clubs and partners. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, a focus on delivery, and the ability to develop impactful programmes. This position offers a salary of £45–50K plus benefits, and is central to driving local action and engaging communities in the sport.
The Transformational Programme Lead sits at the centre of programme delivery ensuring that national strategy becomes effective local action. You will lead the rollout of participation programmes, coordinate delivery capacity and ensure that projects are implemented consistently on time and to a high standard. Clubs and regional partners will rely on you for clear programme guidance, practical support and reliable follow-through.
British Rowing’s Development Directorate is focused on strengthening the foundations of the sport and supporting more people to take part in ways that suit their lives. We work with clubs, community partners and national programmes to broaden access, modernise participation offers and create clearer, more connected pathways into and through rowing. Our evidence‑led, collaborative approach is centred on enabling local environments to thrive.

This means testing new ideas, supporting clubs to develop strong local partnerships and ensuring that volunteers and staff have the tools and confidence to deliver high‑quality experiences. The directorate works closely across British Rowing to link participation, workforce events and talent development into a coherent, inclusive system.
