About the Role: As part of the LII Transformation function, the Transformation Lead will focus on hands‑on delivery, effective stakeholder engagement, and embedding change that delivers measurable and sustainable outcomes. Working in partnership with the business, business agility, technology, and transformation specialists in delivery or change management, the Transformation lead ensures that transformation activity is well governed, inclusive, and aligned to the LII ecosystem to deliver transformation initiatives in a structured and collaborative way. The individual will oversee and lead multiple areas of responsibilities which will flex dependent on the size of initiatives and may lead the direction of work in these areas also.
The position will initially be aligned to overseeing the investment and business outcomes of initiatives coordinating product implementations, process optimisation and change management efforts, on initiatives such as Submission Intelligence Tool (SIT) streamlining underwriting and operational workflows by automating repetitive tasks. The role of these tools is to enhance accuracy, accelerate turnaround times and free underwriters and operations teams to focus on complex, value‑added activities. Its implementation supports organisational goals of improving efficiency, ensuring compliance, and delivering a faster, more reliable customer experience.
Reports to: LII Transformation Director. Leads Transformation Analysts/Specialists.
Delivery Leadership
- Manage delivery of transformation initiatives or workstreams within agreed scope of outcomes, schedule and budget.
- Ensures business readiness and provides input into the planning process.
- Create and maintain roadmaps, value drop milestones and ensure dependency management.
- Coordinate day‑to‑day delivery activities, including one team planning coordination.
- Supports the removal of blockers/impediments in the delivery of outcomes, including collaboration with teams outside of delivery teams, including active risk and dependency management.
- Drive continuous improvement in delivery practices, ensuring consistency and repeatability.
- Works daily with the working groups, clarifying business requirements, removing roadblocks, constantly communicating, and supporting alignment across workstreams.
Change Management & Engagement
- Design and implement change plans (impact assessments, readiness, adoption and sustainment activities).
- Create clear stakeholder engagement and communications plans in partnership with the business supporting structured change management methods (Prosci, Agile).
- Run workshops and training and targeted to support adoption and capability uplift.
- Measure and monitor adoption and adjust interventions to improve outcomes.
- Conduct all relevant activities including impact analysis, stakeholder mapping, engagement plans and readiness assessments.
- Ensure that training and communication activities are in place to support effective change management.
Stakeholder & Business Partnering
- Build productive working relationships and orchestrate the partnership of with all key stakeholders, teams and support functions.
- Ability to influence delivery teams and stakeholders on initiatives to reach the right outcomes, balancing priorities and seeking additional input as required.
- Work with the sponsor to ensure effective leadership in the delivery of the initiative and coach the sponsor in their role as it pertains to delivery and change management.
- Effectively manages the prioritisation of planned or potential change to the delivery of outcomes. Reporting on feasibility, cost of delay ramifications, economies, or other aspects.
Governance & Reporting
- Provide regular, accurate reporting on progress, benefits and risks of delivery.
- Ensure governance artefacts, decision records and highlight reports are maintained to the required standard.
- Support prioritisation and resource allocation discussions for workstreams.
- Ensure all governance, reporting, and documentation meet agreed standards.
- Support and contribute to preparedness for working groups and governance forums.

- Manage and coach team members (where applicable), supporting development and wellbeing.
- Organise responsibilities, fostering ownership and accountability within the team.

Process & Tools
- Contribute to the development and adoption of delivery tools, templates, and best practice playbooks.
- Support capability building activities across the function (training, retrospectives, knowledge sharing).
- Recommend improvements to ways of working based on lessons learned.
- Support the translation of strategic objectives into actionable delivery plans and milestones.
Sustainability
- Ensure that transformation outcomes are embedded, measurable, and sustained post‑implementation.
- Promote continuous improvement and feedback loops within and across the Transformation and Change team.
Skills and Experience
- Proven track record delivering change/transformation projects in complex or regulated environments.
- Experience of working with delivery teams aligned to agile ways of working and creation of business value through business and technical change initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, facilitation and influencing skills.
- Practical knowledge of change management approaches and adoption techniques.
- Strong problem solver with ability to work with a team to maximize progress, potential and overall effectiveness.
- Comfortable with ambiguity; pragmatic and outcome focussed.
- Collaborative and people‑focused; models psychological safety and respectful challenge.
- Clear and concise communicator; able to adapt style to audience.
- Resilient, curious, and continuously improving.
- Acts with integrity, empathy and commercial awareness.
- Experience in financial services or insurance.
- Experience working in hybrid delivery models and with cross‑functional teams.
