Job summary

A local police department in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a Detective Constable for the Public Protection Unit. In this role, you will manage high-demand investigations into Rape and Serious Sexual offences, provide support to vulnerable victims, and contribute to safeguarding initiatives. Applicants should be PIP 2 accredited or willing to pursue it. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the community. Our Public Protection Unit (PPU) is growing and you have a unique opportunity to be part of our transformation. We can now offer exciting opportunities to work within the RASSO teams based at Smithfield Hanley and Lichfield. The RASSO teams investigate high-harm offences against some of the most vulnerable people in our communities. As a detective in this department you will manage high demand, manage risk and support delivery of Operation Soteria. You will have responsibility for investigations into Rape and Serious Sexual offences. You will own complex investigations and provide support to vulnerable victims. This is one of the most worthwhile roles within Staffordshire Police where you can really make a difference. If you are passionate and enthusiastic about safeguarding our most vulnerable, preventing harm and helping deliver a new national working practice into the investigation of RASSO, please submit your expression of interest.

  • Willingness to develop PIP 2 accreditation and expand knowledge in PIP 2 level investigations.
