Overview

Skills Coach / Trainer & Assessor who has experience working in Education, carrying out assessments and supporting learners is required for a government-approved training provider that offers various training programs, including apprenticeships, pre-apprenticeship study programs, pre-employment training and accredited online courses. ALL EDUCATIONAL TEACHING PROFESSIONALS CONSIDERED. However, you will need to have experience working in Children Residential Homes and have experience working as an Assessor with an A1 Award.

LOCATION: Remote working from home with visits to the learners workplace predominantly around the Preston / Blackpool area

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent | WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday

KEY REQUIREMENT: Candidates need experience working in Children’s Residential Homes

Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of learners and ensure they complete their programme within the agreed timeframe; provide continuous information, advice, and guidance to learners and their employers.
  • Conduct initial skills scans and strategically plan and sequence learning to ensure knowledge, skills, and behaviours are embedded and evidenced, preparing the learner for final assessment.
  • Assess learner progress through teaching sessions, observations, and work submissions; deliver detailed, constructive feedback.
  • Maintain strong communication with employers; conduct regular progress reviews to set SMART objectives and ensure training needs are met, including delivery of off-the-job training for apprentices.
  • Adapt delivery for learners with additional needs and ensure effective use of digital tools and resources to maximise learning.
  • Work in partnership with learners and employers; conduct regular progress reviews every 8 to 10 weeks and provide progress updates to managers.
