Job description

Whisper is a leading global production company, specialising in sports, unscripted and branded entertainment.

Our diverse team of over 270 team members work in offices across the UK and beyond, producing top level sports such as Formula One, UEFA and the Paralympics, as well as branded content, prime‑time documentaries and entertainment quiz shows for a raft of broadcasters.

In 2023 Whisper won a BAFTA and was nominated for an International EMMY. It’s co‑owned by Sony Pictures Television and is a seven‑times Broadcast Best Places to Work.

We are looking for talented and hard‑working video editors at the start of their careers seeking an opportunity to develop their skills and build out their showreel within a nurturing and supportive organisation.

Candidates must have a strong working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and a burning desire to improve this skillset every day.

You do not need to have worked in sport before, but you must be able to demonstrate an interest and knowledge of major sports, such as football, rugby and cricket.

We want candidates who are constantly consuming content and seeking inspiration from content creators and publishers.

We want people who watch a new and exciting edit and then instantly want to try and make it themselves.

Whisper is proud to be an equal opportunities employer. We welcome and encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds, communities, and lived experiences. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and supported.

What we’re looking for:
  • A strong editor who is constantly evolving their Adobe Premiere Pro skillset. You must be very comfortable cutting sport compilations, match highlights and social clips in a variety of aspect ratios. And be working towards cutting interview edits from two‑camera shoots.
  • A person that is completely locked into digital and social content. We want people who are regularly watching YouTube, TikTok and Instagram content and can take inspiration from this work and apply it to their own edits.
  • An open‑minded person who works well with others and is willing to listen to feedback and advice.
Your Mission:
  • Make high‑quality sport edits bursting with creativity that provoke strong reactions from your audience.
  • Learn what the difference is between “good enough” and “industry‑leading” content.
  • Be curious and proactive about dramatically strengthening your Adobe Premiere Pro skillset.
  • Develop quality control skills you didn’t think you had, spotting issues before they become problems.
The Skills You Bring:
  • Very strong knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro – and improving every day
  • Media management is kept to the highest level of accuracy and detail
  • Mac experience but also comfortable using PC
  • Solid understanding of video files, codecs and their application
  • Familiarity with post production workflows and technical infrastructure
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality control skills
  • Confident People and Communication skills and problem‑solving abilities
  • Up to date knowledge of new industry technologies
  • Knowledge and enthusiasm for sport is a bonus but not essential.
  • A passion for digital and social platforms. You are constantly watching content on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok and stay close to trends and platform developments.
  • You are extremely comfortable following workflows and delivering your content to a content management system using metadata.
