A leading NHS Trust in Liverpool seeks an enthusiastic individual to train as a sonographer. This role involves clinical training with a PgD Medical Imaging qualification, performing ultrasound examinations, and collaborating in a multidisciplinary team. Successful candidates will develop essential skills in a supportive environment, ensuring high-quality patient care. The position is expected to start in January 2026 and will last approximately 24 months.
We are looking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to train as a sonographer in our Ultrasound Department at Liverpool University Hospitals. The training will include clinical training whilst undertaking the PgD Medical Imaging (Ultrasound) qualification at the University of Cumbria.
This post is expected to begin from January 2026 and will continue for approximately 24 months. The clinical modules that will be undertaken will include General Medical Ultrasound, Gynaecological Ultrasound, and a Negotiated module specialising in Vascular Ultrasound. Employment throughout, and after, the training will be wholly dependent on successful completion of all clinical and academic components of the training.
During the training, undertake clinical training while completing the PgD Medical Imaging (Ultrasound) qualification. Modules include General Medical Ultrasound, Gynaecological Ultrasound, and a Negotiated module specialising in Vascular Ultrasound. Employment during and after training is contingent on successful completion of all clinical and academic components.
On successful completion of stages 1 and 2, applicants will be invited to attend a practical scanning session and formal interview.
