Job description
Job Purpose

FAFS fire and Security require a trainee passive fire specialist to take on an exciting role within the department; the applicant will be required to join the fire stopping section of our passive fire department, and will need to support department operatives in surveying, quoting and installation of fire stopping products across our existing client base in and around London and the South East.

Who are we looking for

A driven and enthusiastic individual who relishes a challenging environment, can work under pressure and works well both in a team environment and on their own.

Responsibilities
  • Support and learn from peers and management.
  • Install fire stopping to manufacturers guidance and in line with our IFC third‑party accreditation.
  • Administer the fire stopping side of a busy department, including email correspondence with clients, quote generation and certification following installation.
  • Complete compliant repair and maintenance work in accordance with manufacturer guidance.
  • Survey, measure and inspect breaches in fire compartmentation.
  • Maintain a safe working environment in accordance with our Health and Safety system.
  • Assist in application of passive fire stopping; practical experience advantageous.
  • Manual handling of fire stopping products to and from the area of installation, ensuring the safety of all individuals in the area.
  • Removal of redundant fire stopping for disposal.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A short online verbal reasoning assessment will be applied to all applicants.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and service management software.

  • Ability to prioritise tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
