Job summary

We are looking for a skilled Nurse to join our Epilepsy Service as a Trainee Epilepsy Specialist.

We are a team of specialist nurses with expertise in the care and treatment of epilepsy and our administrative team. We offer a service to clients in Kent and Medway.

We provide a link between the person with epilepsy, the consultant neurologists and the GP giving advice and monitoring medicine changes.

Main duties of the job

This is a development role where you will train and acquire specialist skills and knowledge in the assessment, treatment and management of people with Epilepsy.

You will have a professional development plan that is co-written with the Specialist Epilepsy Nurse, setting clear goals within set timeframes to meet the clinical objectives.

Once you have achieved Epilepsy clinical knowledge, skills and competencies within 1 year to 18 months of starting you will progress to a Band 6 within the service as a new specialist.

Qualifications Essential
  • Level 6 Degree or equivalent qualification, or equivalent knowledge acquired through experience plus a diploma in nursing
  • Registered Healthcare Professional with relevant Professional body (1st Level Nurse/ NMC or Physiotherapist; Occupational Therapist; etc / HCPC)
