Job description

FM Conway is looking for a Traffic Management Operative to join our Traffic Management division based from our Hickstead depot. The role is full‑time, permanent and involves working a mixture of day and night shifts. As a Traffic Management Operative you will help set up temporary traffic lights, install, maintain and remove traffic management equipment and provide safety and traffic flow support at temporary traffic light sites.

Responsibilities
  • Set up temporary traffic lights as required and assist with the diversion of traffic
  • Maintain and remove traffic lights within the required time scale
  • Manage the traffic flow at the temporary traffic lights, ensuring the public abides by the lights
  • Work closely with management and crews, taking instructions from the management team
  • Ensure sites are safe and conduct on‑site assessments
  • Take appropriate action in the event of an emergency, particularly ensuring the appropriate people are notified
  • Be available on a rota basis for out‑of‑hours on‑call duty if needed
Skills and Experience
  • Knowledge of traffic management operations
  • Valid CSCS card and traffic management Lantra tickets
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD traffic management drawings
  • Awareness and compliance with the provided RAMS
