A leading consultancy in Birmingham is seeking experienced town planners to lead consenting inputs on significant infrastructure projects. Successful candidates will manage multi-disciplinary teams, provide technical advice, and act as project directors. The Infrastructure Planning Team is expanding, with 2024 awards from National Grid as part of the Great Grid Partnership, Nuclear Waste Services, and other clients, establishing a strong foundation for 2025. Our key clients include East West Rail, EET Fuels, Eni UK, National Gas, SSE, Scottish Power Renewables, Severn Trent Water, Southern Water, United Utilities, Yorkshire Water, and others. The team focuses on consenting for energy, renewables, nuclear, net zero, water, rail and transportation and aviation sectors.
We are looking for experienced town planners or consents specialists to join the team to lead consenting inputs on major and nationally significant infrastructure projects. Successful candidates will have demonstrable experience leading multi-disciplinary teams to secure approvals for major and nationally significant infrastructure projects under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and the Planning Act 2008. We are also interested in candidates with experience securing consents for major projects under the Planning (Wales) Act 2015, Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act, Transport and Works Act Order, or the Electricity Act.
