Job summary

A local primary school in Solihull is seeking an ELSA Practitioner and Playworker to support the emotional and mental health of pupils. The role requires a Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification along with a passion for nurturing children. The successful candidate will work part-time during term time, contributing to a positive and safe learning environment. Tidbury Green School – Thrive / Nurture Approach / ELSA Practitioner and Playworker

At Tidbury Green School, Dickens Heath Road, Solihull, B90 1QW

PAY RANGE: BAND C £26824-£29540, Pro Rata Salary £18646-£20534

30 hours per week, Hours of 11:30-4:45pm Mon-Thurs, Term Time + 5 INSET days (39 weeks per year)

Required for February 2026, 12-month temporary contract initially

Responsibilities
  • A great attitude and commitment to nurturing children with an interest and expertise in supporting the social, emotional and mental health needs of pupils.
  • An ability to connect well to children and young people professionally.
  • Reliability, punctuality and energy.
  • Good communication skills, organisation, behaviour management, professionalism and the ability to work as part of the school team.
  • A positive personality that reflects our school values, including ‘kindness and courtesy counts’.
Qualifications
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 childcare or education qualification or relevant degree.
  • Experience and interest in working with children from 4-11 years old.
  • A clear DBS certificate and satisfactory references.
  • We would be particularly interested in hearing from candidates with recent Thrive Practitioner training, ELSA training or Nurture UK training.
