TEST SOLUTIONS AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

PERMANENT MON TO THURS 8AM - 5PM FRI 8AM - 1PM

RSW are looking to recruit a Test Solutions and Development Manager for a permanent role with their client, a government contract electronic manufacturing service. Due to the nature of the business, all candidates will be subject to a Security Clearance check.

Main Purpose of Role

To understand, develop and manage the deployment of optimised test solutions for all existing and new customers and in doing so, transferring ownership of the test solution to the Company. To manage and develop the Company 'test service offering' and capability in conjunction with the Production Test Manager ensuring that all agreed Quality, Capacity and Cost criteria are achieved ensuring total Customer satisfaction.

To Communicate with all existing and new customers to understand their future technology road map to ensure the Company has provisioned the required capability and resource to deliver sustainable test solutions whilst ensuring profitability.

Outcomes of Role
  • Documented Test Strategy for each and every Customer, existing and new.
  • 100% On-time delivery of Customer Test Strategy guaranteed to achieve agreed specifications.
  • Proposed Test Strategies to be revenue generating and profitable by the elimination of lost cost and waste.
Job Scope: Responsibilities
  • Understand Customer Technical requirement.
  • Enhance and Develop Test specification when provided by Customer.
  • Develop Test specification if not provided by Customer and propose.
  • Sell 'test solution service' to customer base - existing and new.
  • Evaluate and re-structure, in conjunction with Production Test Manager, the Test Function.
  • Manage and motivate staff against agreed roles and responsibilities, as documented within each JRD.
  • Continual review and re-assessment of test staff JRD aligned to changing needs of Axiom and its Customers.
  • Management of test strategies and costings to meet requirements.
  • Assessment and deployment of new / emerging test techniques/ technologies.
  • Undertake Line Management responsibility to ensure formal performance planning reviews are conducted when applicable against agreed JRD.
  • Ensure that all company operating values and compliance procedures are adhered to at all times, including quality management, health and safety, legal stipulation, environmental policies and general duty of care.
  • Any other duties deemed necessary.
  • Authority Levels. To be agreed with your Line Manager.
Person Specification - Essential Skills
  • Minimum of HNC or equivalent in an electromechanical or electronic discipline.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and suppliers.
  • Proven track record of process efficiency improvement.
  • Proven Electronic Manufacturing Experience (Including Surface mount, Through hole, Assembly, Test).

Hours of work are 8am until 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am until 1pm Friday.
