A leading defence organization in Bolton is seeking an experienced Test Equipment Design Engineer to join the Production Design Support Team. You'll oversee engineering activities and provide support for manufacturing processes. Ideal candidates will have a degree in Engineering (or equivalent) and experience in systems design. Overview

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Test Equipment Design Engineer to join our Production Design Support Team. You will play a key role in a range of Engineering activities, providing Test Equipment design support to the Manufacturing organization and broadening your expertise in an international environment. An exciting career path awaits. There is a role at our site in Bolton to support production activities with Production Design Support (PDS). You will act as a focal project lead between design teams and manufacturing teams while working alongside other support engineers to provide knowledge and support. The role offers a challenging engineering environment in Electronics with scope for personal growth and development. Working within Production Design Support (PDS) is rewarding, as you help bring designs to life in the manufacturing environment and help shape the design of products and test equipment, delivering support to our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Ideally degree qualified (or equivalent industry experience) with experience of designing product/systems and/or providing support to designs through the manufacturing phase of the product lifecycle.
  • Excellent verbal communication, negotiation and influencing skills with the capability to write clear and concise engineering documentation.
  • Demonstrated record of on-time delivery.
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team, with an awareness of the challenges and opportunities that this may bring. A passion for innovation and collaboration.
  • Investigative skills to identify root causes of design-related issues and propose robust corrective actions.
  • Proven design experience in one or more of the following disciplines:
    • Digital & Analogue Electronics
    • Power Electronics
    • RF and Antenna Design
    • Interconnects
    • Safety Electronics
    • RF Test and Measurement principles
    • Test Systems

What We Offer
  • Salary: Up to £49,000 depending on experience
  • Dynamic (hybrid) working: 4-5 days per week on-site due to workload classification
  • Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Some restrictions may apply; BPSS checks are required after offer.
  • Company bonus: Up to £2,500 (based on company performance and will vary year to year)
  • Pension: maximum total (employer and employee) contribution of up to 14%
