A prominent financial services organization in the UK is seeking a Test Engineer to support software quality assurance in their Corporate Systems Development team. This hybrid role based in Darlington involves coordinating testing activities and ensuring applications meet quality standards. An exciting opportunity to join our Corporate Systems Development team as a Test Engineer on a fixed term basis (18 months) based in our Darlington office (hybrid working).

As a Test Engineer you will support the engineering testing process, ensuring the quality and reliability of software before it reaches user acceptance testing (UAT). This role is critical in coordinating testing activities and ensuring that releases meet rigorous standards.
The successful candidate will possess demonstrable experience of working within a software testing environment, with a particular focus on applications. You will be proficient in testing tools (for example JIRA, Cypress, Playwright, Xray, TestRail), and be familiar with software development methodologies (for example Agile and Scrum). A knowledge of SQL Server is required, alongside a familiarity with Microsoft stack and Azure based applications, is desirable.
We are looking for someone with effective analytical and problem-solving abilities, an excellent attention to detail, and effective communication and interpersonal skills. You will also have a solid understanding of project management and test planning, including risk-based approaches.
