Job summary

A leading construction firm in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Temporary Works Lead to manage all aspects of temporary works design and compliance for the HS2 project. This role involves acting as a liaison between designers and the site team, ensuring safety and effectiveness in accordance with relevant standards. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in temporary works procedures and project management. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a competitive salary.

Responsibilities

• Act as the principal point of contact between Temporary Works designers and the site team.
• Coordinate all Temporary Works activities and appoint Temporary Works Supervisors as required.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Temporary Works procedures on site (WI300).
• Ensure all responsibilities under BS5975, HS2 Temporary Works Procedure, and PAS 8811 / 8812 are fulfilled.
• Oversee preparation and approval of Temporary Works design briefs in line with site requirements.
• Ensure Temporary Works designs are checked, approved, and implemented to the required standard.
• Maintain records of all Temporary Works designs, calculations, drawings, and relevant documentation.
• Verify that Temporary Works are constructed in accordance with approved designs and specifications.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Temporary Works Lead to join the team delivering the HS2 project. The Temporary Works Lead will manage all aspects of temporary works design, coordination, assurance, and compliance in line with HS2 and national standards. This key leadership position ensures that all Temporary Works activities are planned, designed, implemented, and maintained safely and effectively in accordance with BS5975 and the Employer's Temporary Works Procedure.
