Job summary

A leading engineering and construction company in the United Kingdom is seeking a Temporary Works Design Engineer. The role involves undertaking designs for a variety of temporary works schemes and collaborating within project teams. Candidates should have a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and be working towards professional chartership. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success as you will develop relationships across the organization and potentially visit sites throughout the country.

Qualifications

  • HND/Bachelor/Masters degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
  • Working towards Chartership with ICE or IStructE is preferred.
  • Ability to work autonomously or collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake engineering designs for temporary works schemes.
  • Represent the MAE team in project meetings.
  • Conduct site visits as needed.
  • Collaborate with other engineers for optimal solutions.

A day in the life of a Murphy Temporary Works Design Engineer
  • Undertaking engineering designs on a wide range of temporary works schemes across the full portfolio of Murphy projects.
  • Representing the MAE team in collaborative project team meetings.
  • Undertaking site visits when appropriate.
  • Working collaboratively with other engineers within the group to produce the best engineered solution to temporary works problems.
