A leading construction services provider is seeking an experienced Temporary Works Coordinator to support the Devonport project in Plymouth. This full-time role involves coordinating all Temporary Works activities on site within a secure environment, ensuring compliance with HSEQ standards, and managing design and implementation processes. Candidates should have over five years of experience in heavy civil projects and possess necessary security clearances. A long-term role with competitive daily rates is offered.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Temporary Works Coordinator in heavy civils or major construction projects.
  • Experience in a nuclear, defence, or regulated environment is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Temporary Works procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Temporary Works between site teams and designers.
  • Review and manage TW design briefs and submissions.
  • Manage TW through design, approval, implementation, inspection, and dismantling.
  • Ensure TW are installed in line with approved designs.
  • Carry out site inspections and issue TW permits.
  • Coordinate Temporary Works Supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with HSEQ, legal, and project procedures.

Temporary Works Coordinator

Location: Plymouth - Devonport Project (full-time site based)

Rate: c£450 per day (Umbrella PAYE)

Contract: Contract role

Hours: 42.5 hrs per week (approx. 08:00-17:00)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) to support a major construction programme on the Devonport project. Working within the engineering team and reporting to the Lead TWC / Engineering Manager, you will coordinate all Temporary Works activities on site within a secure, regulated environment. BPSS security clearance required (process can take up to 8 weeks). Candidates must have lived in the UK for the last 5 years and hold a NATO or MISWG passport.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate Temporary Works between site teams and designers
  • Review and manage TW design briefs and submissions
  • Manage TW through design, approval, implementation, inspection, and dismantling
  • Ensure TW are installed in line with approved designs
  • Carry out site inspections and issue TW permits
  • Coordinate Temporary Works Supervisors
  • Ensure compliance with HSEQ, legal, and project procedures
Experience Required
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a TWC on heavy civils / major construction projects
  • Nuclear, defence, or other regulated environment experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Temporary Works procedures
  • Experience with RC, formwork, and falsework schemes
  • Civil engineering qualification or equivalent desirable
