Overview
The Quality department is currently looking for a Temporary Quality Control Technician for a minimum 6 month contract, with the possibility of becoming permanent. To join their team working the Afternoons regular shift Mon-Thurs 1330-2230, Fri 1400-1800 (0800-1600 whilst training). This is a short to medium term temporary role to provide extra cover, but with the possibility of becoming permanent.
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the QC Engineer, you will provide support to the Business with regards to day-to-day Quality Control tasks, in particular the completion of Quality Inspection tasks required within the shift and be providing support to the Project and Validation Team. You will work as a team with all other departments and shifts to deliver the objectives of the business.
- In partnership with the QC Engineer, ensure the QC laboratory supports production, validation and development requirements appropriately across all shifts.
- Raise Non-Conformance Reports as appropriate and ensure relevant staff in Production and Quality are alerted to Quality Failures.
- Complete assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner, maintaining attention to detail at all times.
- Strive to achieve personal, shift and department targets, and participate in improvement activities.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards in the QC laboratory, including record keeping and filing.
- Assist the QC Engineer with calibration requirements.
- Where required, support the Goods-In Inspection process.
- Ensure there is productive communication and teamwork across all shifts.
- Take responsibility for maintaining relevant documented procedures within the Quality Management System.
- Assist in ensuring that company, customer and legislative standards are met and exceeded.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
- GCSE level C or above in Maths, Science and English.
- Good attention to detail with regards to review of documentation and inspection of components/ products for compliance.
- The ability and confidence to work both independently and as a team.
- The ability to prioritise work load and work under pressure, in a high pressure environment.
- General proficiency in the use of computers/ computer software, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Previous experience of Quality Control or Inspection or working within a laboratory environment work an advantage, however, full training on the tests and product requirements will be provided.
