A local government authority in Shrewsbury is seeking an Independent Chair for the Safeguarding Adult Board. The role involves providing strong leadership and strategic vision while ensuring effective collaboration among partner agencies for safeguarding adults. Candidates should possess excellent negotiation and influencing skills, along with experience in building productive partnerships and analyzing complex information. Telford & Wrekin Safeguarding Adult Board is seeking applications from individuals whose passion, vision, and steadfast commitment to safeguarding society’s most vulnerable not only reflects our own values but also serves to challenge them.
The Independent Chair provides a statutory function as the Chair of the Telford & Wrekin Safeguarding Adult Board with particular reference to providing independent challenge and scrutiny to local safeguarding arrangements and practice. The post holder will provide strategic vision to the safeguarding adult agenda across Telford and Wrekin andwill ensure that the Board operates effectively and discharges its duties in line with statutory guidance and good practice.
The Chair will:
- Provide strong leadership, strategic vision
- Demonstrate excellent negotiation and influencing skills
- Demonstrate experience in building and maintaining productive partnerships
- Analyse complex information and provide robust scrutiny and challenge.
- Have detailed understanding of relevant regulations
- Have the ability to ensure all partner agencies on the Board collaborate effectively to safeguard adults, promote their welfareand improve outcomes.
The role is for 25 days per year.
