About this role

The Experimentation team at JET is a central team within the Engineering Excellence group. We support the business by designing experiments, processing vast amounts of experiment data, and analysing and interpreting the results. Our goal is to scale up by integrating our experimentation analysis tooling into a state-of-the-art experimentation platform, expanding experimentation throughout the organisation, and leveraging new ML-based approaches. Automation and making experimentation fully self-served is a key part of this, and this is where you come in.

We’re looking for a Technology Manager to lead and grow the engineering side of our Experimentation platform team. You’ll shape the vision and execution of our experimentation platform, ensuring it is robust, scalable, and easy to use for teams across the business.

Location

Hybrid- 3 days a week from our Bristol office & 2 days working from home

Reporting to

Head of Engineering - Platform Engineering

These are some of the key components to the position :

• Lead a team of engineers, providing technical direction, coaching, and fostering a culture of innovation and experimentation.
• Partner with data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders to define strategy, priorities, and deliverables.
• Drive the development of self-service experimentation capabilities, automation pipelines, and integration with ML-based analysis methods.
• Own the technology roadmap for the experimentation platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and compliance with data governance standards.
• Ensure high engineering standards, best practices, and continuous improvement within the team.
• Promote experimentation as a core capability at JET by building tools that democratise and scale its use.

What will you bring to the team?

• Demonstrable experience leading and growing high‑performing engineering teams.
• Experience in software engineering and platform development, ideally with distributed systems, data pipelines, or experimentation platforms.
• Experience working with Data Scientists, product teams, and business stakeholders.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to balance technical depth and business value.
• A mindset for scalability, automation, and self‑service tooling.
• Familiarity with A / B testing frameworks, causal inference methods, or large‑scale data analysis (beneficial but not essential)
• Past Experience of leading in Experimentation (beneficial but not essential)
