Technology Graduate - Nottingham

Salary : 45000 in Nottingham plus a 5000 joining bonus and other benefits

Location : Nottingham only

Start date : 14th September 2026

Eligibility : Open to any final year students graduating in 2026 or those who have graduated in 2025. (This includes undergraduates, masters and PhD students)

Sponsorship : We are able to sponsor if you currently have the right to work in the UK (including student / graduate visas)

Responsibilities
  • Working on customer experience and journeys across our apps and website creating backend APIs alongside our Services teams.
  • Making sure our systems are stable and reliable in our Site Reliability teams.
  • Working with our Data Engineering teams to ensure all the information we store is safe and secure but ready to be accessed at a moment's notice.
  • Supporting our Cloud teams as we finish our migration to AWS.
  • Optionally rotate outside of tech after your first rotation into another business area if there are any other areas you would like to explore.
What you'll need
  • You have a good foundation of coding skills (in any language).
  • You have the flexibility and aptitude for the learning it takes to master lots of different tools and technologies.
  • Your approach when it comes to coding and how you solve problems.
  • How you communicate and collaborate with others.
  • Your enthusiasm about tech and Capital One.
The Recruitment Process
  1. Step 1 : Apply! We don't screen CVs so there's no need to tailor your CV or attach a cover letter. After your initial application if you meet the eligibility criteria you will be sent online testing to complete which will assess the core skills required for the role.
  2. Step 2 : Next up you will be invited to complete a one way video interview looking at your motivations for the role and some examples where you've shown the soft skills we are looking for.
  3. Step 3 : You'll get to (virtually) meet with two members of our tech team during the assessment day which consists of a pair programming exercise and a presentation and strengths based interview.
  4. Step 4 : The final interview where you will be invited to meet with one of our Senior Software Managers in person. This is a great opportunity for you to have a look around our offices and learn more about life as a grad from one of our own.

Work location and flexibility

This is a permanent position based at our Nottingham office. We have a hybrid working model which gives you flexibility to work from our offices and from home. We're big on collaboration and connection so you'll be based in our Nottingham office 3 days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Many of our associates have flexible working arrangements and we are open to talking about an arrangement that works for you.
