Job description
Technician – Food Technology

19.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Grade 3 point 5 to 6

£25,583 to £25,989 pro‑rata (£11,597 to £11,781 actual)

Responsibilities
  • Provide high‑quality support to Food Technology departments across all Key Stages and both school sites.
  • Support subject areas across all Key Stages, based across both school sites.
  • Maintain food rooms and use SIMS and other software as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • A wide range of excellent practical skills.
  • Strong organisational ability.
  • A genuine interest in education and young people.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to learn SIMS quickly.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection as per policy.
  • Applicable DBS with enhanced certificate and that the applicant is not on the children’s barred list.
  • Understanding of spending convictions guidance from the Ministry of Justice.
Additional Information
  • Exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 – the successful applicant must apply for an enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Applicants must not be on the children’s barred list held by the DBS.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be asked to provide details of all unspent convictions and those that would not be filtered prior to the interview.
  • All applications must be submitted via the standard Sheffield LA application form. CVs will not be considered.
