Overview

Technical Supervisor

Summary: We are seeking an experienced Technical Supervisor to join our engineering team. This position plays a vital role in supporting both customers and internal colleagues, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards while maintaining strong professional relationships. The Technical Supervisor will provide hands-on technical support, commissioning, and field assistance to installation and service engineers. They will oversee projects from start to finish, ensuring compliance with company standards, industry best practices, and client requirements. The role also includes providing technical support to design and sales teams during project planning and tendering, as well as occasional support with internal IT, security, and server systems.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, commission, test, and troubleshoot projects across the UK and occasionally overseas.
  • Oversee server deployments and programming activities.
  • Inspect cabling, device installation, head-end build-outs, terminations, programming, and system testing.
  • Ensure adherence to internal technical standards across all projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers and internal teams on engineering tasks and follow-ups.
  • Contribute to the design, assurance, and delivery of new, complex projects.
  • Provide operational and technical support to engineering teams.
  • Maintain and build relationships with suppliers and technical partners.
  • Ensure detailed technical reviews and validated commissioning processes for all projects.
  • Provide service and maintenance support, including remote troubleshooting for clients and colleagues.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, providing guidance and training.
  • Engage directly with clients on-site to strengthen relationships.
  • Ensure all project documentation and handovers are accurate and completed on time.
  • Collaborate with client IT, security, and facilities teams to ensure smooth project delivery.

Qualifications & Experience
  • At least 5 years’ experience commissioning enterprise-level access control systems.
  • At least 5 years’ experience commissioning enterprise-level CCTV and video management systems.
  • 10 years’ experience in the electronic security systems industry.
  • Experience across diverse environments such as datacentres, offices, and warehouses.
  • Valid driving licence, passport, and right to work.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge and certification in enterprise-level access control systems (e.g., Lenel, S2, CCure, Openpath, Feenics, AMAG, ProWatch, Genetec).
  • Knowledge and certification in enterprise-level CCTV and VMS platforms (e.g., Milestone, Genetec, Avigilon).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong networking knowledge, including switches, firewalls, and related systems.
Additional Requirements
  • Manufacturer certifications on at least 50% of the systems listed above.
  • ECS, IPAF, and health & safety qualifications (SMSTS / SSSTS) are desirable.
  • Ongoing training will be provided to support development in this lead technical role.
Work Environment

This role is based at a regional office (Ile-de-France) but requires flexibility to work on client sites across the UK and overseas. Approximately 20% of time will be office-based, with the remainder spent at client sites or travelling.
