The role of the Technical Service & Development Formulation Leader – Home & Personal Care is to drive research excellence across multiple markets in personal care & home care formulation. The role delivers innovative solutions as new inventions and advanced formulation insights for improving preservation and establishing novel format claims related to surfactant, emulsifier and multifunctional uses in these technology areas. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in cosmetic formulations and a passion for creating innovative products.

You will be responsible for developing formulation space using Arxada products, driving customer-facing technical work and documents, supporting sales with technical input, and identifying third-party support for formulation needs.

Essential Job Functions

• Design and source experiments to develop ideas, concepts, processes, hypotheses, and focus areas that lead to new products, formulations, or expanded application uses.

• Provide direction and insights into the innovation needs of Arxada customers and how Arxada technologies can deliver solutions via deep application knowledge and service.

• Define research programs, in conjunction with universities and external research organizations, to facilitate promotion of our products with consumers.

• Lead formulation development to create robust technical information in the form of customer seminars, webinars, research/technical reports, presentations, product data sheets, and sales tools for new products in collaboration with Global Marketing teams.

• Drive financial results (as measured by Revenue, Innovation Revenue, and Innovation Margin) through support of existing customers and development of new business at growth accounts in the Personal Care market segment, particularly with respect to formulation ingredients and emulsifiers.

• Create linkage between Sales, Marketing, and Global R&D to provide regional market insights, support technical applications, develop new data packages for product support, and assist with regional launches of R&D programs in Preservation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in cosmetic sciences, biological sciences, chemical sciences, or a related scientific/technical field.

• Min. 10+ years demonstrated ability in a formulation or product development role within the cosmetic, personal care, or home care industry.

• Proven experience influencing teams in a product development environment.

• Strong knowledge of preservation systems, emulsification and rheology formulation, and new product development systems.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Fluent in English; German or French proficiency is an asset.

• Solid understanding of US and EU regulatory standards preferred.
