Overview

We’re Hiring: Technical Project Manager

Make the extraordinary, everlasting - with us.

At EC, we craft extraordinary experiences that leave a lasting impression – not just for our clients, but for our people too. We blend the big ideas of a creative agency with the meticulous execution of a production company, bringing bold, imaginative events to life. We’re collaborative, down-to-earth, and serious about delivering quality – all while finding time for lightness and fun. If you’re curious, adaptable and excited to do meaningful work with a team that’s got your back, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role

EC have an opportunity for a multi-disciplinary Technical Project Manager to join our team. In this role, reporting into our Head of Production, you’ll organise the technical delivery of projects. Using technical creativity skills, you will be responsible for ensuring the projects you are working on are quoted, specified, and delivered on budget and on time. Always working with teams, you are an integral part of the event process, lending experience and knowledge throughout the event cycle. You would be based in our London office and deliver in some of the most iconic venues in London, as well as across the rest of the UK and sometimes abroad. So, if you are an engineer looking to step up or a seasoned professional wanting a new challenge, then this exciting role could be for you.

Who are you?
  • You have demonstrable experience in a technical role within the live events industry.
  • You have a good working knowledge of event technology, including audio, video and lighting, with the ability to confidently kit-list projects in at least two disciplines.
  • You have experience working on a variety of project types, including conferences and private events.
  • You are a strong project manager with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • You’re a creative problem-solver with the ability to think on your feet and resolve technical challenges under pressure on-site.
  • You have good verbal and written communication skills and can communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and clients.
  • You have an awareness of the role of health and safety in the industry, such as risk assessments and advocating for best working practices on site.

You don’t have to tick every box - we care just as much about curiosity, adaptability and a growth mindset as we do experience on paper.

Day-to-day Responsibilities
Project Planning
  • Working with our production and agency teams to provide technical support, planning and quotations.
  • Liaising between the Technical, Production, Operations and Warehouse Teams at all times to create a streamlined project flow.
  • Producing equipment lists, technical plans and other relevant documents for events.
  • Monitoring technical budgets for projects to ensure margins are maintained.
  • Producing H&S documentation for events.
  • Act as a point of contact for internal or external stakeholders in the event of any changes or additional requests throughout the project.
  • Representing the company at site meetings.
Project Execution
  • Provide clear and accurate briefings to internal and freelance event technicians.
  • Oversee on-site technical equipment and crew, and act as the company\'s representative to the client.
Representing the Company
  • Assist in marketing projects as requested.
  • Attending trade shows and other industry events as necessary.
  • Undertake client visits and venue visits as directed.
  • Living and demonstrating our company values in your day-to-day work
  • Ensure that the Company’s policies, rules, procedures and obligations are observed in carrying out the above duties.
  • Actively helping us to deliver on our ambitious 2030 Pledge (check it out on our website)
Risk Management & Compliance
  • Ensure all technical aspects of the event adhere to health and safety regulations, including RAMS and other requirements.
  • Proactively identify potential risks and develop contingency plans in the planning stages of an event.
  • Promote safe working practices at all times when on site.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders within the business to shape our approach to technical equipment purchasing in line with industry trends and requirements.
  • Stay updated on the latest technical and production innovations and trends to maintain our competitive edge in the market.
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of internal technical processes, introducing best practices and industry-leading techniques.
