Technical Compliance Manager
About the Role

We are working with a leading FMCG business to recruit a Technical Compliance Manager for their Maidstone office. This full‑time role will lead compliance across a wide range of products, suppliers and geographies, ensuring food safety, ethical due diligence, and monitoring environmental impacts while managing and developing a high‑performing compliance team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Technical Compliance team, setting priorities and ensuring objectives are achieved.
  • Oversee supplier due diligence to ensure accurate and up‑to‑date information across internal and customer systems.
  • Manage supplier approval and compliance onboarding processes.
  • Conduct supplier risk assessments and monitor ongoing compliance across all product categories.
  • Oversee chemical surveillance testing schedules and manage supplier recalls and traceability exercises.
  • Maintain accurate approved supplier lists for internal and customer requirements.
  • Develop and implement compliance procedures and internal guidance.
  • Report on compliance performance and sustainability KPIs to senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Technical Procurement and Commercial teams to integrate compliance and sustainability objectives.
  • Prepare for and lead customer audits and quarterly HACCP reviews.
Skills & Experience
  • Degree in Food Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Science or a related scientific discipline.
  • Proven experience managing teams with strong leadership skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint.
  • Strong project management, organisational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively across all levels of the business.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
