Job summary

A food production company in Wales is seeking a motivated QA support professional to assist with various quality assurance tasks. The role requires good communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. The ideal candidate will have a tertiary education or equivalent experience, and while QA/QC experience is preferred, training will be provided. Responsibilities include conducting audits, managing complaints, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Job description

A role to support the technical function in particular the QA function. Carrying out daily, weekly and monthly tasks, support QA Manager in Non Conformance investigations, complaints, and raw material and packaging defects back to suppliers.

Flexible with good communication and organisational skills. Ability to work solo to deadlines as well as within a team. Ideally suit someone in or recently graduated from Tertiary education or with equivalent experience.

Key areas of accountability
  • Assist QA function in all tasks detailed in HUM262 (job description Quality Assurance) where required.
  • Provide holiday or sickness cover for QA on all shifts including nights.
  • Assist QA Manager and Technical team in completing complaint investigations and Non Conformance investigations.
  • Complete ingredient and packaging supplier complaint notifications and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Assist in closing out of non conformances raised internally, by customers or 3rd parties.
  • Assist in internal taste panels and customer buy back panels.
  • Collect samples and take environmental swabs as part of the internal program and send to the appropriate 3rd party laboratory.
  • Complete GMP audits and factory walk abouts.
  • Review and audit CCPs and key tasks in the factory.
  • Assist in creating outer case labels and inputting Ravenwood labels for new products.
Essential skills and experience

The ideal candidate will have a can do attitude and be willing to gain practical technical experience as part of the role. With a view to progress within the business. QA/QC experience is not essential, although it helps. A good understanding of how a factory works is ideal. Training and coaching will be given. Good communication is key. There is only one QA on a shift so you need to be comfortable working on your own, but also you are part of the bigger factory team, so you need to be able to tell them what is going on, and offer help where needed.
