Team Manager - Children's Services

Location: Preston
Hours: Monday to Friday | 09:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay: Up to £42 per hour (Umbrella)

Role Summary:

Lead and manage a dedicated children's services team to deliver high-quality support and safeguarding outcomes for children, young people, and families. Drive performance, ensure statutory compliance, and foster a positive, results-driven team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver the team's objectives aligned with the Service Plan to meet service user needs
• Develop and maintain a strong performance culture; manage and support staff performance
• Monitor, review, and evaluate team and individual performance with corrective actions as needed
• Promote and support corporate values and council-wide activities
• Adapt services in response to policy/procedure changes
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safeguarding and specialist services
• Ensure effective use of resources and collaborate with Early Help partners
• Support staff development through training, supervision, and guidance
• Ensure compliance with statutory duties and council policies
• Manage service demands by allocating resources according to assessed needs
• Produce performance reports and conduct monthly team audits
• Authorize high-quality assessments, reports, and care plans
• Review and recommend improvements to service delivery and processes
• Lead performance meetings to analyze and present team data and progress
