A renowned staffing agency is seeking a Team Manager for their Children in Care Service in Bury. You will oversee social work services, ensuring the safeguarding of children in line with statutory requirements. This role involves team supervision, quality assurance, and collaboration with various agencies to uphold high standards of practice. A BA in social work is required, alongside the ability to manage challenging situations. The position offers a competitive salary of £52,413 - £53,460 plus a market supplement.
Salary: £52,413 - £53,460 plus a £2000 market supplement.
Hours: 37 hours per week (standard hours 8:45 am - 5:00 pm), with flexibility required to meet service needs.
Location: Various locations across Bury, with a focus on agile and remote working.
The Team Manager oversees the provision of social work services specifically for the Children in Care team.
The post holder ensures that all eligible children and young people are appropriately safeguarded in Bury in line with statutory requirements.
A key focus is maintaining the "Bury Standards" of practice through rigorous quality assurance and file auditing
The role involves managing the complete staff life cycle, including recruitment, retention, and performance management.
The manager acts as a representative for the Local Authority in formal settings, including Family and Criminal Courts.
Provide direction, supervision, and support to the team and Assistant Team Managers.
Allocate and monitor team workloads to ensure a fair distribution of cases based on priority.
Manage safeguarding processes and ensure childcare plans are implemented to protect the interests of children.
Contribute to the Team Business Plan and participate in developing integrated local services with partner agencies.
Authorise team reports and statements, ensuring they meet high-quality professional standards.
Manage team budgets and authorise expenditure in accordance with council policy.
Identify training needs and facilitate professional development and workshops across the service.
Investigate and resolve complaints from service users or partner agencies, disseminating learning back to the team.
