LiveWest is looking for a dedicated Team Leader to support our Supported Housing Young People services. In this role, you’ll help shape a safe, empowering, and person‑led environment that nurtures independence and growth for young people facing challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support a team of Youth Development Workers to deliver high‑quality services.
  • Allocate cases and ensure timely assessments, support sessions, and reviews.
  • Conduct case audits to maintain high standards of practice and documentation.
  • Hold a caseload of young people (where appropriate), ensuring action plans and risk assessments are current and effective.
  • Collaborate with the Team Manager and external agencies to address safeguarding concerns.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with external organisations to enhance support for young people.
  • Use performance data to guide team development and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Deliver high‑quality supervision that supports professional growth and retention.
  • Assist in recruiting, developing, and motivating colleagues to meet evolving service needs.
  • Respond to crises and emergencies, coordinating support across teams.
  • Support the achievement of commissioned outcomes and internal targets.

This role is being offered on a full time basis working 37 hours per week. This is a field based role covering schemes across Truro, Liskeard, Bodmin and St Austell.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience working with young people with diverse needs, including homelessness, mental health, and substance misuse.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, relevant legislation, and youth development.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in complex situations and communicate effectively.
  • Willingness to work flexibly; outside normal office hours to meet the needs of young people.
  • A Level 3 qualification in a relevant field (or willingness to work towards).
  • Safeguarding certification.
  • Desirable: Coach qualification.
  • Desirable: Mental Health First Aid certification.

Please note: This role is not eligible for a CoS. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the role without a CoS.
