A local government authority in Cardiff is seeking a skilled Team Leader for Maintenance Operations. You will oversee highway maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety standards and the delivery of quality services. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in the field, exceptional communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This full-time role is operational and involves working at various locations, including participation in an after-hours standby rota.

About the job
The Team Leader Maintenance Operations will oversee the delivery of a high-quality and safety focussed Highways Maintenance Operations service. This includes delivery of the winter maintenance and adverse weather service. This full-time role involves leading the delivery of highway asset maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
This role is not suitable for agile working due to its operational nature. The post will be mainly based at Brindley Road Depot, however you will be expected to work from various locations and be required to participate in an ‘out of hours’ stand-by rota, for the provision of a 24hour emergency operation.
We are seeking an experienced and capable individual who can demonstrate:
Desirable attributes include recognised management and health and safety qualifications, knowledge of relevant highway accreditations including British Standards Institution (BSI), and familiarity with working with unions and elected officials.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring our highway assets are managed effectively and sustainably to support high-quality service delivery.
