Job Type: Team Leader

Salary: 13.20 ph

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours a week

As a Team Leader at Hobbycraft you will assist the Store Manager in the day‑to‑day running of the store. Also responsible for running the store in the Store Manager's absence you will deliver excellent customer service that encourages repeat visits and drives incremental sales. Areas of Responsibility
  • Teamwork and leadership: lead by example, coach colleagues where appropriate to drive outstanding customer service and commercial awareness.

  • Planner: ensure the store is set for a successful day of trade.
  • Relationship builder: ensure everyone is always treated fairly, with dignity and respect; adhere to our Equality Diversity Inclusion and Belonging policy to ensure a safe, welcoming, inclusive environment for all.
  • Merchandiser: coordinate deliveries; manual handling is an essential part of the role.
  • Click and Collect: coordinate the Click and Collect process.
  • Policy expert: comply with company policies and health and safety regulations, ensuring the store remains safe and legal.
  • Communicator: deliver clear and concise communications such as key messages and daily targets so the team understands expectations and how to deliver.
  • Workshops: host various workshops in‑store.
  • Store management: support the Store Manager in day‑to‑day management; responsible for running store in the Manager’s absence; key holder; opening/closing; attend alarm callouts if required; cash controls; PI counts; general admin; back‑of‑house access; general store and colleague security; data compliance (including payroll, recruitment, personal data).
  • Recruitment: assist the Store Manager to build a high‑performing team through recruitment, induction and training of new colleagues.
  • Colleague support: provide support and coaching for colleagues where appropriate.

Job Suitability

This role would suit a current Team Leader in a Retail or similar environment or an experienced colleague looking to make their first move onto the Management career path. The candidate should be a confident and professional individual who is able to support the management of a diverse team in a fast‑paced environment; someone who is calm and resilient, able to work well under pressure and cope with changing priorities.
