Team Leader - Food Manufacturing (Afternoon Shift)

Location: Redditch

Salary: £26,988 per year + overtime available

Hours: Monday to Friday, 14:30 - 23:30

Contract Type: Permanent

Lead, Motivate, and Deliver in a Fast-Paced Food Production Environment

Are you a hands‑on leader with experience in food manufacturing? Do you thrive in chilled environments and enjoy motivating teams to deliver high‑quality results?

We're looking for a Team Leader to oversee a production line, drive performance, and ensure the highest standards of food safety, quality, and efficiency are consistently met.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead and manage a team of production operatives on your line.
  • Assign daily tasks and provide clear, supportive direction.
  • Monitor and uphold food safety, GMP, and health & safety standards.
  • Conduct weekly food safety audits and complete all required documentation accurately.
  • Troubleshoot basic machine issues and liaise with engineering when needed.
  • Motivate your team to meet production targets and maintain quality standards.
  • Communicate delays, shortages, and equipment issues effectively to management.
  • Support new product launches, trials, and process improvements.
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing or production leadership (chilled environment preferred).
  • Comfortable working in temperatures between 4°C and 8°C.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking) to complete documentation accurately.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
  • Positive, proactive, and adaptable attitude.
  • Physically fit and comfortable in a hands‑on, fast‑paced role.
Important Site Rules
  • PPE must be worn at all times (welsh, hair net, beard snood).
  • No jewellery, fake nails, fake eyelashes, heavy makeup, or visible piercings allowed on site.
Performance Goals
  • GMP score > 85%
  • Plan attainment > 95%
  • Accurate completion of all paperwork and CCP checks
