Job overview

Barrow Town District Nurses have an exciting opportunity to recruit a permanent Band 6 District Nursing Sister/Charge Nurse. The successful candidate will ideally have at least one year's experience in Community Nursing and have completed or working towards relevant post registration qualification.

You will be working within the Furness district as part of a dynamic and supportive team who continuously strive to deliver gold standard patient care within our community.

Main duties of the job

This exciting opportunity is for a dedicated and motivated community nurse to develop their skills and knowledge in District Nursing, working across the Lancaster area and other community Nursing Teams as part of the Integrated Care Community (ICC's), covering a 24 hour period including weekends and bank holidays, 7 days a week.

Community Nurses work closely with all health and social care disciplinaries to prevent hospital admission, facilitate hospital discharge and promote independence through reablement and management of long term conditions.

Person specification
  • 1st level registered nurse.
  • Demonstrable basic and advanced clinical skills.
  • Recent management/leadership experience relevant clinical speciality.
  • Post registration qualification in relevant area.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Ability to work as part of the MDT clinical team.
